SDS: Safety Data Sheet

Safety Data Sheet

SDS

A Safety Data Sheet, (SDS), is a document comprised of 16 sections and describes the properties and generic contents of a chemical product, as well as its hazards. It includes information such as the properties of each chemical; the physical, health, and environmental health hazards; protective measures; and safety precautions for handling, storing, and transporting the chemical. Chemical manufacturer, distributor, or importer are required to provide SDS for each hazardous chemical to downstream users to communicate information on these hazards.
