The GB CLP

Following the exit of United Kingdom from the EU, the European implementation of the Globally Harmonized Standard (CLP) has been retained with minor changes to be implemented as the GB CLP Regulation.

However, the list of harmonized classification reported in Annex VI to CLP Regulation was not automatically implemented in GB CLP.

Last October 23rd 2023, the Minister for Social Mobility, Youth and Progression (MfSMYP) published the first official batch of Mandatory Classification and Labeling list (“MCL list”).

The MCL list

Under Article 37 of the GB CLP Regulation, the harmonized classification of 98 substances have been published on the HSE website.

The entry into force date was October 20th 2023, but similarly to what happens for the ATP updates for EU CLP, a transitional period of eighteen months is in place. The compliance date is set at April 20th 2025.

Trace One (previously known as Trace One) is already working on implementing and providing the update related to this new regulation.
