New public consultations concerning the harmonized classification

Four substances subject to public consultations

Public consultations concerning the harmonized classification of some substances listed in Annex VI to CLP Regulation were opened. ECHA invited the interested parties to provide comments regarding all classes for physical, health and environmental hazards.

Public consultations have been opened for these substances:

  • 1,4-dioxane (EC 204-661-8; CAS 123-91-1) ): the proposal, submitted by Holland, would update the pre-existing classification as follows: Liq. 2, H225; Eye Irrit. 2, H319; Muta. 2, H341; Carc. 1B, H350; STOT SE 3, H335.
  • 5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methyl-3-pyridyl)(4,5,6-trimethoxy-o-tolyl)methanone (Pyriofenone) (EC 692-456-8; CAS 688046-61-9) the proposal, submitted by United Kingdom, would add the harmonised classification as follows: Carc. 2, H351; Aquatic Chronic 1, H410, M-factor = 1.
  • N-methoxy-N-[1-methyl-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-ethyl]-3-(difluoromethyl)-1-methylpyrazole-4-carboxamide; pydiflumetofen (EC: -, CAS: 1228284-64-7) the proposal, submitted by France, would add the harmonised classification as follows: Aquatic Acute 1, H400, M-factor = 1; Aquatic Chronic 1, H410, M-factor = 1.
  • flumioxazin (ISO); N-(7-fluoro-3,4-dihydro-3-oxo-4-prop-2-ynyl-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-6-yl)cyclohex-1-ene-1,2-dicarboximide (CAS 103361-09-7) the proposal, submitted by Czech Republic, would update the pre-existing classification as follows: Repr. 2, H361d; Aquatic Acute 1, H400, M-factor=1000; Aquatic Chronic 1, H410, M-factor=1000.

Public consultations usually last 60 days and, in this case, consultations will close on June, 8th 2018.

Harmonised classification: what companies can do

Public consultations concerning the harmonized classification allow companies, interested in one or more proposed substances, to comment such classification. Those interested in such substances and who have data of interest may contact ECHA to communicate such info.
