January 5, 2016: The European Commission published a new legislative amendment, Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1 of 3 December 2015, amending Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum residue levels for the following pesticides: bifenazate, boscalid, cyazofamid, cyromazine, dazomet, dithiocarbamates, fluazifop-P, mepanipyrim, metrafenone, picloram, propamocarb, pyridaben, pyriofenone, sulfoxaflor, tebuconazole, tebufenpyrad and thiram.

In particular, new MRLs have been set for Sulfoxaflor, for which before this amendment, no MRLs were set and only the default value of 0.01 mg/kg applied.

For the following pesticides, bifenazate, cyazofamid, cyromazine, mepanipyrim, metrafenone, propamocarb and tebuconazole, maximum residue levels, MRLs, were set in Annex II, while for dithiocarbamates and thiram, MRLs were set in Annex II and Part B of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. Only for boscalid, dazomet, fluazifop-P, picloram, pyridaben, pyriofenone and tebufenpyrad MRLs were set in Part A of Annex III to that Regulation.
