FSSAI Yearly Statement on Food Samples Tested

The food regulator has published a yearly statement citing numerical figures on: number of samples examined, number of non-conforming samples, number of prosecutions launched, number of convictions/ penalties and amount raised through penalties from years 2011-2015.

Accompanying information includes annual public laboratory testing reports (years: 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15) and half yearly public testing reports (2014-15). However, the regulator has made no disclosure about the type of foods that were sampled or with respect to what violation of food regulations, penalties/convictions were carried out.
