Home Food Regulatory News Mexico: Additive Amendments Mexico: Additive Amendments Feb 24, 2016 Posted By: Selerant RSA Share: On February 12th and 17th, 2016, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) published amendments to Annex I “Additives with different functions” and Annex VI: “Enzymes”. The amendment of the Annex I released two more functions for Ferrocyanides: Anti-caking agent and foaming agent to be used in Iodized salt and Iodized fluorinated salt. In the Annex VI the addition was for Xylanase, an enzyme from Aspergillus oryzae. This additive is now allowed as it has been evaluated and approved by the Secretary of Health.
