New amendment for Canada food additives

The 13th of February Health Canada published two notices of modification to the lists of permitted food additives.

 

The first is a Notice of Modification to the List of Permitted Sequestering Agents to Enable the Use of Trisodium Pyrophosphate as a Sequestering Agent in Standardized Meat and Poultry Products.

 

The second is a Notice of Modification to the List of Permitted Emulsifying, Gelling, Stabilizing or Thickening Agents to Modify the Level of Use of Lecithin as an Emulsifying Agent in Infant Formula.

 

The 19th of February Health Canada published one Notice of Modification to the List of Permitted Preservatives to Extend the Use of Ascorbic Acid as a Preservative in Canned (naming the fruit) and Canned (naming the vegetable) at a Maximum Level of Use Consistent with Good Manufacturing Practice.
