China To Introduce New Varieties of Food Additives

On June 24, 2019, the China National Safety for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) has published a new list of additives to be consulted and available for comments (“Call for public comment on 5 new varieties of food additives, such as Arab furan glycoside enzyme”).

According to the "Measures for the Administration of New Varieties of Food Additives" and the "Regulations on the Application and Acceptance of New Varieties of Food Additives", the following changes have been proposed:

  • New varieties of enzyme preparations for food – Arabinofuranosidase, pectinlyase, xylanase and lactase;
  • Expansion of scope and dosage of use for the sweeter potassium acetylamide;

Comments are accepted until July 19, 2019.
