EU Sets Import tolerance for Oxathiapiprolin in Blueberries

On May 27^th, 2022, the European Food Safety Authority published an article about “Setting of an import tolerance for Oxathiapiprolin in blueberries” in accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005.

The document highlights the following:

• MRL modification of highbush blueberries by noting that lowbush blueberries are excluded from the authorized use in the US;
• Adequate analytical methods are available to control the residues under consideration at the validated limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.01 mg/kg;
• The proposed maximum residue limits for highbush berries are established at 0.5mg/kg;
• Risk assessment results indicate the short-term dietary assessment was not required and long-term intake of residues poses no risk to consumer health.
