European Union (EU) March 2019 Recalls on Food Commodities

Food news from European Union: safety & food recallsIn March 2019 the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) portal of the European Union published recalls on food categories from different countries.

Food commodities involved are the following:

  • Frozen pheasant breast fillets from Belgium contaminated by lead (2.4; 2.6; 1.2; 1.0 mg/kg - ppm), alert notification 1024;
  • Groundnuts from Nicaragua containing aflatoxin (B1 = 5.8; Tot. = 6.3 µg/kg - ppb), alert notification 1035;
  • Live mussells from Spain with too high content of Escherichia Coli (330; 490 MPN/100g), alert notification 1040.
