Home Food Regulatory News FDA Nutrition Facts Panel Final Rule – Extension of Compliance Date Proposed FDA Nutrition Facts Panel Final Rule – Extension of Compliance Date Proposed Oct 1, 2017 | US FDA New Labels | Final Rule | Compliance Date Posted By: Suzana Tripologos Share: On September 29, 2017, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a proposal to extend the Food Labeling Final Rules original compliance date of July 26, 2018, to January 1, 2020, for manufacturers that have annual food sales of $10 million or more. For manufacturers that have food sales less than $10 million, the proposed compliance date would extend to January 1, 2021. No other changes have been made to the final rules of the Nutrition Facts Label and Serving Size. Comments (both written or electronic) regarding compliance dates only are being accepted for 30 days, starting on October 2, 2017. Read more here.
