On November 26, 2019, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has published the “Action Plan for Safe and Quality milk and milk products”, on the occasion of the National Milk Day.
Two surveys have been carried out on national milk safety and quality and milk products adulteration.
Considering the results of the two surveys, “a 12-point action has been drawn up to ensure safety and quality of milk and milk products in the country: (1) testing and continued surveillance, (2) preventive and corrective action for implementation and monitoring; and, (3) consumer engagement.”
