On June 18, 2020, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) released the new guidance "Labelling of Gin and Gin Products in Ireland.“
The document clarifies to the industry the labelling requirements of gin produced in Ireland. The Irish gin industry has to clearly understand its legal responsibilities and comply with the European Union (EU) labelling regulations.
The final scope is to avoid mislabelled products and to safeguard consumers’ health and interests by avoiding the presence of indications that may mislead the consumers.
