On February 7, 2019, Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) published the Draft Standard “Contaminants and toxins in food and feed”.

The draft restricts maximum levels of contaminants and natural toxicants in food and feed, in case of risk for public health.

Among all, limits for the following substances are still under evaluation: aflatoxins, deoxynivalenol, fumonisins, ochratoxin A and patulin.

Comments to the document will be accepted up until April 6, 2019.
