The Thai FDA stipulates two clauses for usage of probiotics in food:
Type of probiotic microorganisms as specified in the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health on the use of probiotics in foods dated 27th June 2011 and the Announcement of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 346), 2012 regarding Use of Microorganisms. Probiotic should be approved by FDA.
Probable microorganisms remaining in product should be no less than 106 CFU per 1g of food throughout the shelf life of the food. The applicant must enclose evidence of the results.
