US New Rules on Pesticide Tolerances

In the past two weeks of March 2019, the USA Federal Register has published new tolerance levels for the following pesticides:

  • On March 11, 2019, limits for the herbicide S-metolachlor including its metabolites and degradates have been modified when used in or on multiple raw agricultural commodities. The Interregional Research Project Number 4 (IR–4) requested these tolerances to the Environmental Protection Agengy (EPA) under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). Full text here;
  • On March 12, 2019, the EPA established new tolerance levels for residues of methoxyfenozide in or on imported tea, after the petition filled by Dow Agrosciences, LLC. Full text here;
  • On March 22, 2019, tolerance for the crop pesticide mandipropamid was introduced for use in or on various commodities. Full text here.
